...if we be honest with ourselves,
we shall be honest with each other.  ~ George MacDonald

You should read books like you take medicine, by advice, and not by advertisement.

Dennis Prager has written an excellent commentary about the book of Exodus entitled, The Rational Bible: Exodus. But he does make one major mistake. In chapter 19 under a section entitled “Is God’s Love Unconditional?," he confuses the word approval with the word love.

The Bible says a father punishes the son he loves. Is he punishing his son because he approves of his behaviour? Of course not. He’s punishing his son because he loves him.

God loves all people equally. His punishment against the very wicked will be severe, but only because his love is so fierce.* Having said this, I highly recommend Prager's book. See the reviews on Amazon.  (Dennis Prager is right about people’s love; peoples love can be earned.
